Robbin joined AAAC in August of 2022. Prior to this, she had been practicing internal medicine and primary care locally since 2016 and has filled multiple healthcare roles over the last sixteen years.
Robbin took an interest in immunology and cell biology during her undergraduate years where she studied and obtained her bachelor’s degree in premedical biology at Towson University. During this time, she was involved in several research initiatives as an undergraduate research assistant, most notably involving gene replacement for resistance to tuberculosis infection. She was able to help her team attain two substantial grant awards from NIH through her contributions to this work.
Initially an aspiring veterinarian, Robbin pivoted toward nursing after finding herself helping family members navigate chronic illness. She received her ADN through Harford Community College and went on to obtain her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Simmons University in Boston, MA. She maintains her board certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Robbin worked as an ICU nurse at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, caring for some of the most critically ill patients in the region. She feels this experience helped mold her into a strong outpatient clinician, especially in regard to managing and preventing complications from chronic lung disease.
Robbin’s favorite part of working at AAAC is getting to help patients finally enjoy a normal life, often after being sick or feeling unwell for years. On a lighter note, she loves it when her patients pass their food challenges, and she gets to tell them they can finally enjoy some of the delicious things they have been avoiding for their entire lives!
Originally from Lynchburg, Va I now live in Kent Island on the Eastern Shore. I have over 20 years in the Allergy and Asthma field. I have held several committee positions on the College and Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. I have also been very instrumental in launching several of the latest Asthma Biologics that have had an impact on the specialty and treatment of Asthma patients. I love this specialty and I can’t wait to expand my knowledge. I am very excited to have found my home at Advanced Allergy and Asthma Centers and I look forward to meeting each of you.
